Reasons why care takers should not risk childrens lives with steroids
It has been used more than I can count in children, yes, the steroid drug. Some of the users do not even consult medical doctors or pharmacists before they give children these drugs. I know as you do that there are children outside there who consume steroid not because they want, but because they don't know the impending risk imposed on them by the care takers. I feel so bad to realize that there are parents who give steroids to the children in the name of fitness. This is especially to the children who happen to be so fat. Their parents step in to help then in shaping up. It may be a good step to consider the weight of your child, but exposing the child to steroid is almost equal to a child abuse. Below are some of the risks your child may be facing due to steroid use. Steroids will cause an early end to the bone growth in your child. The result will be a retarded growth in your child. It may also lead to some disproportional form of body physique due to the fact that various parts of the body bones were abruptly stopped from growth and had not reached the actual balanced level. This will be a very bad offer to give a child who is under your care. It has been proven that steroid use affects the brain of an unborn child. This may lead to the delivery of an abnormal child. Therefore it is very necessary that the pregnant mother should keep off from using steroid during pregnancy. It will be quite unfair to both the child and the entire family that a mentally incapacitated person has been brought in the family, not because of nature, but because the mother really wanted to keep fit during pregnancy. Toxic build up in the liver and kidneys are always common conditions with the steroid users. Children exposed to this drug will definitely experience kidney failure, something which can easily lead to their death. It will therefore be a slow form of murder, imposed on the child by the care taker through steroid. At the same time the child will experience blood clot and heart diseases due to the increased blood volume caused buy the thickened blood. This is because the steroid drug easily makes the blood of a child thick, something that can also lead to a high blood pressure. More so, steroid will cause impairment to the immune system of the child. This is especially that the child still may lack that well developed body cells to fight foreign materials like steroid. This exposes the child to a situation where he will easily succumb to any little disease which could otherwise be managed by a stronger immune system. It is the responsibility of the society to know the dangers of steroid so as to stop exposing children to unnecessary risks. Even if a child is overweight, there are some other better ways of exercise to help the child shape up. At the same time, if you consult a doctor and you are told that there is no risk with the child's weight, take it easy and let the child grow up. He will decide the right shape for him when he grows up. In most cases, the weight will be lost at puberty. But if a caretaker decides to ignore all these risks, then any member of the society can come out and defend the innocent child. This should be by reporting the incident to the relevant authority. Lets be good care takers because our steps today will affect feature lives of our children. |
